Antonia Kaiser is a sustainability researcher and currently works as a postdoc in the Social Transitions Research Group at the University of Basel and as scientific collaborator in Rural Sociology at the Berne University of Applied Sciences. Her inter- and transdisciplinary research focuses on sustainability and democracy in alternative global food value chains and on agri-food system transformations more broadly. At the University of Basel, she is also a lecturer in the Master's program in Sustainable Development.
Previously, Antonia conducted research on farmer behavior, biodiversity conservation and agricultural policy measures at Agroscope. She received her PhD from the University of Basel with a thesis investigating practices, discourses, and policies in a transition to low-pesticide agriculture. Her background also includes a Master's degree in Sustainability Economics and Management from the University of Oldenburg, Germany, a semester abroad at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia and an internship with an NGO in Tanzania.
