Curriculum Vitae
Adam Hearn is a Researcher in the Sustainability Research Group at the University of Basel, and in the Center for Religion, Economics and Politics in the faculty of theology. He researches in inter- and transdisciplinary teams in various international and national research projects with an energy focus.
His research topics focus on the energy transition, examining PEDs and different forms of community renewable energy, as well as living labs, co-creation methods, energy justice and energy poverty. He is also an EU Climate Pact Ambassador.
Adam Hearn has co-taught various courses for Masters students, such as Quality of Life and Sustianability: Theoretical and Empirical Approaches, and Positive Energy Districts: A New Way to Realize a just Energy Transition? He is currently completing his University teaching diploma and has given guest lectures for a number of other courses.
Adam Hearn studied Development Studies (Social Anthropology and Sociology) at the University of Kent at Canterbury and completed a Masters in Medical Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. As part of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Programme "SMART BEEjS" Horizon2020, Innovative Training Networks (ITN), he completed his PhD in sustainability (Insigni Cum Laude), with his research focusing on energy justice issues and positive energy districts, graduating at the University of Basel in March 2023.
