We are excited to announce the launch of the Energy Communities Leadership Programme, organized by the HORIZON Europe ENPOWER project, with the involvement of three members of the Sustainability Research Group: Dr Annika Sohre, Dr Iljana Schubert, and Dr Adam Hearn.
This programme is designed for people engaged in emerging or existing energy communities, working in local/regional governments, energy service providers, or social support organisations – as well as anyone interested in advancing consumer-centric energy systems and community energy approaches.
What to expect
This free online capacity building programme (Sept–Oct 2025, in English) will equip you with the skills to:
Navigate regulations for energy communities,
Apply digital services effectively,
Develop social engagement strategies,
Implement data strategies, governance, and business models for scaling up communities.
The modules are grounded in real-world experiences from pilot communities in Austria, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, Hungary, and Spain – providing practical insights on energy savings, efficiency, digital transition, and successful community engagement.
